Josephine Creek begins as a trickle high on the south-east side of the summit of Mt Bartle Frere, Queensland's highest mountain. Approximately 7.5 kilometres from the summit of Mt Bartle Frere the waters of Josephine Creek tumble over granite boulders, forming the picturesque Josephine Falls. This track leads you through lush tropical rainforest, to viewing decks overlooking the Josephine Creek and Falls, where there are excellent photographic opportunities. Below the falls are several swimming holes surrounded by boulders and a popular water slide down a smooth sloping rock face between pools.
